Cynthia Morrison Ph.D, LCSW, LMFT

 Dr. Morrison earned both her Master of Science degree in Social Work and her PH.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her doctoral research focused on assessment of trauma on childhood sexual abuse victims.  She has extensive experience in treating sexual abuse victims as well as children, teens and adults suffering from depression, anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder, eating disorders, ADD/ADHD, marriage and family issues.

Rebecca Jones, Ph.D, LCSW, LMFT

Rebecca S. Jones is the co-founder of HBC along with Dr. C. Jane Morrison. Dr. Jones earned both her Master of Science degree in Social Work and her PH.D. in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her doctoral research involved a national study of professionals who treat child sexual abuse. She has also taught in The UTA Graduate School of Social Work and at The University of North Texas. She uses a cognitive behavioral approach in treating children, teens and adults in the full spectrum of emotional and psychological problems. She has extensive experience in treating her clients who suffer with symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders and relational issues. She began her studies in Brussels, Belgium before completing her under-graduate degree at the University of Connecticut.

Sandra K. Walton, MSW, LCSW

Sandra K. Walton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Sandra earned her Bachelors degree in Sociology from Bard College and her master's degree in Social Work from The Rockefeller School of Social Welfare. She has practiced clinical social work since 1989, including both program administration and counseling and psychotherapy with children, adolescents, families and couples. She has presented papers on addiction as a public health concern at The University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and on managed care from a community health perspective in Kingston, New York. Sandra taught Social Psychology at a community college and has been published by the National Association of Social Workers, New York state chapter. She treats a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns, including depressive and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, addiction concerns, grief and loss, anger and stress management, relational issues, lesbian and gay issues, and both women's and men's issues. Sandra is fluent in Spanish and is culturally competent in working with clients of Hispanic ancestry.

Leslie E. Shepherd, MSSW, LCSW

Leslie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her license in 2004. She received a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington where she was a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport where she graduated Cum Laude.

Leslie started her career in community mental health in outpatient and intensive outpatient settings. She has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults providing individual, couples, and family therapy. She has also worked with the chronically mentally ill in a residential setting.

For many, Leslie was the only female therapist in an outpatient clinic which cultivated a passion for working with women's issues. She has extensive experience with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, transition issues, chronic illness, grief, parenting issues, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, stress, LGBT issues, ADHD, addiction, Bipolar Disorder, work issues, and crisis intervention. Leslie uses eclectic therapies. She focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and strength-based approaches to wellness. Leslie believes the most important part of the therapeutic process is the relationship between the client and therapist.

Lauren Kellersman Saliba, MSW, LCSW

Lauren Saliba is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in practice since 2004. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Connecticut College and further studied psychology during a semester abroad at The University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. She earned her Master's degree in Social Work from New York University, and maintains licenses in New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Lauren practiced in New York City from 2005 to 2012, in a variety of outpatient and day treatment settings, as well as at The New York Psychoanalytic Institute. Upon her move to Texas in 2012, she has worked with school-aged children and teens as well as adults suffering with issues such as, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, abuse, self-harm, personality disorders, relationship issues, stress management and life changes. Lauren provides individual, couples and family therapy, implementing a variety of cognitive behavioral techniques.

Kristen Welton, MSW iNTERN

Kristen Welton is a Licensed Master Social Worker who received her Master's Degree at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, from St. Andrew's Presbyterian College in Lauinburg, North Carolina. Kristen completed her internship here at HBC, under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Jones. In addition, she has worked with Domestic Violence Perpetrators as well as court ordered clients. Trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), her areas of specialty include, but are not limited to: chronic pain, mood/ personality disorders, grief and bereavement issues, ADHD, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, anger management and crisis intervention. Successfully navigating the many challenges that come with living with a physical disability since birth, Kristen offers a strength-based approach to therapy. This belief asserts that every indvidual or family has something to contribute and possesses unique strengths that can be tapped into to overcome any difficulties and that, all struggles provide opportunities for growth. In her free time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her dog, Giovanni, and trying new restaurants.

Kelly King, LPC

Kelly King is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her BS from the University of Texas in Denton and her Masters of Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She has worked extensively with adolescents and adults, providing individual and family counseling. She also has experience helping clients with issues such as, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, parenting issues, grief, trauma, relationship issues and self-harm. Kelly utilizes Family Systems therapy, Client Centered therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to meet the needs of each client. Kelly believes the most important part of the therapeutic process is the relationship between the therapist and the client.

April Dodson, LMFT

April Dodson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) devoted to helping others through various life challenges.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Walden University in Minnesota and earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Texas Woman’s University. 

April’s clinical experience includes, but is not limited to, working with families, adults, adolescents, and couples facing anger issues, PTSD/trauma, infidelity, financial issues, life changing events, grief and loss, self-injury, and medical issues including disabilities. She is also a Prepare and Enrich facilitator for premarital and marital couples.  Her therapeutic goal is to help her clients identify their strengths, in order to face their challenges in an open, supportive environment that encourages positive personal growth.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, working with individuals, regardless of age. My specialties include helping individuals who are dealing with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD and PTSD, along with helping you determine how best to deal with life stresses. I do not practice Couples or Family therapy.

I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree from Sam Houston State University with a Major in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Psychology. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M-Commerce. I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral and Person-Centered Therapies to collaborate with you towards a resolution of your inner conflict. I understand the importance of giving every individual an opportunity to be heard and I want to help you find within yourself, the ability to become the best version of yourself that you can be. I look forward to working with you to see if we can discover another way for you to deal with what is going on in your life.

I have extensive experience working with clients in a psychiatric hospital setting, group and individual private practice setting. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life. I empathetic, non-judgmental and a good listener I also am straight forward and pragmatic. Together we can work on finding the best solutions for your issues.

I work very well with children ages 6 and up, I enjoy adolescents and have a gift of putting kids, adolescents and young adults at ease. I work well with multi-cultural individuals and have an understanding and respect for all cultures.
