Areas of Practice
Why play therapy? Children, no matter how smart they are, cannot express their feelings verbally like adults. They express their feelings, needs, and frustrations through play. They get tired of questions quickly; therefore, when play is allowed they can be expressive.
Young adults are the college students or those who are just entering the adult world of work. It can be very stressful time making the transition from a supportive family environment to that of total independence. This time comes with its own set of struggles.
Children can have a variety of issues related to school anxiety, behavioral issues, divorce or family conflict, or organic psychological challenges. We can evaluate and help your child make progress towards whatever goals are set for their treatment.
Individual counseling involves talking about your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and the things that are troubling you. You might spend time talking about your relationships with others, the things you are good at and the things you would like to do better. Your counselor will work with you to set goals and strategies to help you reach your goals.
